As part of a comprehensive vetting process, every lodge in the collection was judged on three main criteria. Firstly the design and character of the property, with a special focus on the celebration of the surrounding area. Secondly the guests overall experience and quality of service. Lastly candidates were judged on how the property demonstrates a commitment to conservation and green operations, and whether they actively support the protection of cultural heritage while providing benefits to the local community.
