2015 was an outstanding year for Inkaterra found and CEO, José Koechlin, who scooped up the PURE Award 2015 for his ‘Contribution to Experiential Travel’. Celebrating his commitment to ecotourism and sustainability, the accolade recognises José’s development efforts over the past fourty years.

The celebrations continued throughout 2015, as Inkaterra was acknowledged as the best Peruvian hotel by the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards. The hotel ranked 3rd in the Top 25 Hotels in South America, praised for its intimacy, cuisine and colonial charm.

National Geographic also made our 2015 special with their inclusion of Inkaterra in Unique Lodges of the World, as the only brand to offer four destinations within the luxury travel foray.

The year ended with a sighting of our furry friend, the Andean Spectacled Bear. Alongside sightings of the Orange-cheeked parrots in the Madre de Dios River, the Spectacled Bear gave explorers a fascinating encounter with Peruvian nature.
